How to Extend the Life of Your Lincoln with Proper Maintenance

Cars are an investment, so you’ll want to make sure yours lasts as long as possible while running in great condition. You can extend the life of your Lincoln by getting plenty of preventative maintenance at your Lincoln dealer. This Lincoln maintenance makes sure every system in the vehicle remains running smoothly, thus preventing unexpected and inconvenient breakdowns.

How to Extend the Life of Your Lincoln with Lincoln Maintenance from Your Lincoln Dealer

Maintain the Fluids

There are a huge number of fluids in your car that need to be maintained. These fluids need to have their levels topped off often, and they should also be drained and then replaced with fresh fluid periodically.

Motor oil is one of the fluids you need to get changed the most often, and you need to change your oil filter while replacing the oil itself. Your dealer can perform this service for you and make sure the correct oil for your car is always lubricating your engine.

Replace the Filters

The oil filter isn’t the only filter in your vehicle. You’ll also need to get other filters replaced, such as the air filter and the oil filter. When one of these filters gets clogged, it can compromise your car’s performance.

Replace Wear-and-Tear Parts

Cars are built to last, but there are some parts that don’t last as long as others. Parts like belts, hoses, the windshield wipers, and wires need to be replaced regularly, so visit your dealer for tune-ups.

Longer-lasting components such as the spark plugs and battery also need to be replaced to make sure the car cannot only run smoothly, but run at all. When you have a faulty spark plug or a dead battery, you may not be able to get the car started, so it’s best to replace these components before they completely die.

Maintain Your Tires Well

Your tires impact your car’s handling and safety, so making sure your tires are in good condition is vital. Replace the tires when the tread wears down, and schedule wheel alignments and tire rotations to make sure the tread always wears down evenly. This prolongs the life of your tires and makes sure your ride stays as smooth as possible for as long as possible.

Clean and Repair the Body

Dirt and salt can seriously damage your paint job and the body of the car underneath that paint. Get your car washed regularly, and get a protective coating put on it to prevent rust and protect it from water. Make sure you get any dents repaired as soon as you can, too. Remember that the underside and the chassis of the car need just as much TLC as the rest of the body.

Come to Bayway Lincoln in Houston, TX to get all the maintenance your Lincoln needs. The services above are just the tip of the iceberg.

If you hear a squealing sound when you apply your brake, that could be an indication your brake pads are worn out. Your new Lincoln is not only stylish and luxurious, but it’s also protected by a comprehensive warranty. As your Lincoln dealer, we want to tell you more about your 2024 Lincoln warranty, including what’s covered and what’s excluded from coverage.

From Your Lincoln Dealer: What Is and Isn’t Covered by Your Lincoln Warranty?

What’s Covered?

A Lincoln has several warranties that protect it against any issues involving the labor or materials that went into building it. If an issue covered by the warranty is discovered, it will be repaired by an authorized dealer at no charge. Let’s take a look at these individual warranties.

New Vehicle Limited Warranty

This warranty covers the majority of components in your car. The only things that aren’t covered are those components that form part of one of the other warranties listed below, or that are specifically excluded. Coverage by this warranty extends for the first two years or 24,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

Powertrain Coverage

Engine, transmission, and drivetrain components and systems are protected by this warranty. These three systems are the most valuable and complex parts of your Lincoln, and they enjoy protection to match their importance. All your powertrain components are covered for six years or 70,000 miles.

Corrosion Warranty

The body metal and sheet metal on your Lincoln are high-quality and have enhanced protection against rust or corrosion that’s applied during its manufacture. In the unlikely event that your vehicle suffers any form of corrosion, the affected panels or sheets will be replaced. This protection against corrosion lasts for five years and has unlimited mileage.

Safety Restraint Systems Warranty

Your airbags and safety belts are covered against any defects for five years or 60,000 miles.

Emissions Warranty Coverage

The emissions control systems in your Lincoln are built to the standards required by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The majority of components included in this warranty are protected for two years or 24,000 miles. The catalytic converter, engine control unit, and onboard emissions diagnostic devices are covered for eight years or 80,000 miles.

What’s Not Covered?

Damage caused by certain situations isn’t covered by any of these warranties. We’ll now take a look at some of these excluded situations.

Environmental Damage

Any damage caused solely by earthquakes, hail, floods, or frost is excluded. In addition, scratches and dents due to hail or other hard natural impacts are not covered.

Unauthorized Alternations

Any modifications or damage caused by unsuccessful repairs by a non-dealer are not protected. Any work performed to repair these situations will be performed as a regular, billable repair.

General Maintenance

Oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks are not covered by warranty protection.

Accidental Damage

Any damage caused by theft, poor maintenance, accidents, or similar situations is not covered by warranty.

The 2024 Lincoln Nautilus is packed full of features drivers love, and several of them enhance your safety. These driver assistance features are high-tech and highly functional, and they’ll help keep you safe in a wide range of situations you can get into while driving.

4 Safety Features of the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus

1. Adaptive Cruise Control

Adaptive cruise control allows you to relax a little while driving. Your Nautilus takes over some of the driving duty by self-adjusting your position in your lane as well as your speed. You can use a preset with cruise control, or you can allow your Nautilus to base its speed changes on traffic. You still need to keep your hands on the wheel and keep your eyes on the road while using this driver assistance feature.

2. Lane-Keeping Technology

Staying in the center of your lane is one of the keys to staying safe while driving both in the city and on the highway. Your Lincoln Nautilus’s lane-keeping system can help with that when you’re on the highway. It’s designed to make sure you remain in the middle of your lane.

The system helps you prevent accidentally drifting into the next lane or to the side of the road. If needed, your Nautilus can use the steering system to make sure you get back into the center of your lane if you start drifting.

3. Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection

Distractions and the unpredictability of other people’s movements can lead to emergency situations. Sometimes a car will unexpectedly pull out in front of you, or a pedestrian will dart out into the street with no warning. When this happens, your Lincoln Nautilus will detect it and send you an alert to help you prevent a collision.

Sometimes you won’t have long enough to respond to this alert, so your Nautilus will automatically hit the brakes to try and stop you from crashing into a pedestrian or vehicle. If the collision is unavoidable, then the automatic braking function can help lessen the severity of any accidents you get into.

4. Blind Spot Information System

Your Lincoln Nautilus is always on the lookout and will send you an alert when a vehicle begins to enter one of your blind spots. This allows you to act accordingly and ensures you don’t miss it when there’s a car in one of those areas. The alert that shows up when there’s a vehicle in your blind spot appears in your sideview mirror, making it very easy to see.

If you need a car with all of the safety features above, then come and take the Lincoln Nautilus out for a test drive. Visit Bayway Lincoln in Houston, TX to see the car in person today.
